We are so saddened to learn of the passing of Philip Biggs, a kindred spirit and steadfast supporter of brass playing. A cornet player, Philip Biggs spent 30 years as a performer before beginning a career in promotion, education and marketing. In August 2003 Philip launched The Brass Herald, a five times a year, 92 page color magazine covering all aspects of brass playing. This magazine is helping to create a better understanding across the boundaries of brass playing – to the benefit of all. Philip received the IWBC President’s Award from Founder Susan Slaughter and President Joanna Ross Hersey in Rowan, New Jersey at IWBC 2017, and meant the world to us. Rest well dear friend.
