Presenter Guidelines

For Presentations, submit the following materials:
-A biography (50 words maximum)
-A description of your presentation (250-500 words)

For recitals, submit the following materials:
-Biography of the ensemble (if applicable, 50 words maximum)
-Biography of each individual performer(s) (50 words maximum)
-12-15 minute representative recording (upload or link)
-Repertoire to be performed

Preference will be given to presentations that showcase diversity and inclusion in brass playing. Presenters are required to register for the conference at a discounted rate of $150 per person. Presenters will be assigned a 30 minute time slot to present and/or perform at the conference. 

The deadline to apply to present at the 2022 conference is November 1, 2021. Those selected will be notified by December 15, 2021.

IWBC is carefully planning and keeping in mind the developing nature of the COVID19 crisis. We plan to have a full conference as scheduled in 2022 but have established alternative plans should there be complications. In the event of a conference cancellation, presenters will receive a full refund as well as a guaranteed offer to present at a future conference.

Announcing new group recitals!

IWBC is excited to announce that we are accepting applications from performers to play one piece on a group recital. For the 2022 Conference, the three categories are as follows: 

  • Barbara York Tribute Concert – all pieces must be composer by Barbara York
  • Professors Recital – open to educators  employed by a college institute 
  • New Works Recital – open to anyone performing works composed in the last 5 years

Suggested length of pieces is 8-10 minutes or less but longer works or movements will be considered. If you would like to apply to be a part of these recitals, click the link below.

Volunteer

IWBC is collecting applications for conference volunteers. Volunteers assist the IWBC team, presenters, artists, and attendees during the conference. Volunteers do not have to be students to apply. There are two levels of volunteering. Full volunteers serve more hours and receive free registration. Half-volunteers serve fewer hours and receive a half-price discount on registration. JUDGE

IWBC is accepting applications for brass musicians who would like to judge our four competitions: solo, ensemble, mock orchestral, and mock military auditions. Judges will be required to be in attendance at the conference by Tuesday, May 24th. Judges will receive free conference registration. Lead a Group Warmup

Are you interested in leading a group warmup at the conference? If so, fill out the form below. Anyone is welcome to apply but preference will be given for those proposing innovative and engaging warmups. Selected warmup clinicians will receive the presenter discount at the conference.

Conduct a reading ensemble
